Shaheen Afridi’s triumphant return to Test cricket as he breaches the 100-wicket mark.

After a year-long absence, Pakistan’s pacer Shaheen Afridi made a remarkable comeback in Test cricket on Sunday. On Day 1 of the ongoing Test, Shaheen claimed three crucial wickets, surpassing the milestone of 100 wickets.

Shaheen celebrated the achievement with his signature gesture, showcasing his joy.

Wasim Akram, the former Pakistan captain and legendary pacer, took to Twitter to congratulate Shaheen on this milestone. He tweeted, “Congratulations @iShaheenAfridi on your 100 test wickets, just one of the many milestones to come…Keep going strong!”

Shaheen Afridi joins the esteemed list of cricketers who have taken 100 wickets in Test matches.

Referring back to the previous year’s first Test in Galle, Afridi discussed his intention to capitalize on the new ball in order to achieve a particular milestone. Unfortunately, due to an injury, he had to postpone his pursuit.

“I was just one wicket away, and the opportunity to use the new ball was imminent. My plan was to leverage its advantage to reach that milestone. However, I sustained an injury before we obtained the new ball, resulting in a considerable delay. Being separated from cricket has been incredibly challenging, but during this time, I’ve gained valuable insights that will contribute to my performance for Pakistan in all formats,” Afridi remarked.

With his immense talent, Shaheen Afridi is recognized as one of the most promising young bowlers globally, and it is certain that he will amass numerous additional wickets in the years ahead.
